The story of Dr. Andrew Jacono’s career does not begin in a lecture hall or an operating room. It begins on a school bus, where a young Jacono sat beside a classmate with a cleft lip and palate while other children refused to. When surgery corrected her deformity, the social transformation was immediate. That early lesson in the power of facial reconstruction never left him.
Building the Foundation
Dr. Andrew Jacono earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1996. A residency in Otolaryngology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary followed, where he served as administrative chief resident. He went on to complete an advanced fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, accredited by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Those credentials positioned him to pursue what would become his defining clinical contribution: the Minimal Access Deep-Plane Extended (MADE) facelift. Developed in the early 2000s, the technique departs from older skin-pulling methods by lifting the skin, muscle, and fat layers together as a single structure. The result is a more natural appearance one that Town & Country described as making patients look like refreshed versions of themselves with outcomes lasting 12 to 15 years.
A Profile That Extends Nationally
The technique drew high-profile attention. Marc Jacobs publicly named Dr. Andrew Jacono as the surgeon behind his facelift in 2021. Dr. Paul Nassif, a plastic surgeon by training, chose Jacono for his own procedure.
Newsweek ranked Dr. Andrew Jacono third among facelift surgeons nationwide for 2025. Harper’s Bazaar included him among the country’s 24 best plastic surgeons. The Most Compassionate Doctor Award came to him every year from 2012 to 2022, an honor reserved for fewer than 3% of practitioners.
Outside his private practice, he is Associate Clinical Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Section Head of Facial Plastic Surgery at North Shore University Hospital, and Fellowship Director for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His more than 70 peer-reviewed publications and 100-plus international conference presentations reflect a career as productive in research as in practice. See related link for more information.
